Meet the hosts of the upcoming Asian Games in 2018, the Government of DKI Jakarta would build bicycle racing arena aka the most modern velodrome in ASEAN. This project would spend the funds of Rp 544 billion.
"We continue to strive to immediately realize the project, so the velodrome can be used for the 2018 Asian Games later. Hope the process smoothly, and the contractors immediately began to work and this is the only world class velodrome in ASEAN, "said Presdir PT Jakpro, Satya Heragandhi, in his statement, Wednesday (25/5/2016).
PT Jakpro itself is believed to be responsible for the project. This, Jakpro is the area owned enterprises (BUMD) in DKI Jakarta.
Meanwhile the development implementation entrusted to EF Global as a contractor, an original United Kingdom construction company that partnered with a local contractor PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA) Tbk.
The location of the construction of the arena is located in the Rawamangun velodrome. Originally, this location used to be a horse racetrack. However, due to the horse racing is gambling gambling so this activity stopped and switch function became the arena of race bike.
However, racing bike arena that was built at that time rated don't meet international standards so that it can not be utilized to the maximum. So, by Jakpro as responsible for the project, the building would be dismantled and rebuilt with a stronger structure and quality.
Project Director Velodrome, Dharmananda Lukito said, racing bicycle designed by experts from the United Kingdom, this velodrome construction is yet to begin implementation of the physical work on the next June. So hopefully, the entire project is complete, the velodrome at the end of June 2018 maximum.
"The Fact of the time, it is very tight, but we sure can still be pursued for the 2018 Asian Games, really," he said.
For the budget, Dhamananda said, for the calculation of the initial project funds requires US $ 30 million or approximately USD 408 billion.
"But due to the high standard fulfillment needs, there is an additional need to be US $ 40 million ($ 544 billion). We did the first time building a Velodrome and certified international standard, it changes the budget up from the original estimate, "he said.
Dharmananda said, to meet the specifications required internationally, is not easy. As main construction (construction) namely floor area racing bicycle, wood material specifically should match the recommendations of international bike organization.
"We're still, keep proposing use of wood in the country namely South Sumatera of Merbau wood, but if the UCI (the international bicycle Association) judge does not qualify, yes no option (no options) have to import wood from Siberia," he said.

race tracks, according to Dharmananda, has circumference of
approximately 250 metres away, while the wide circle of 5.5 meters.

accommodating up to 3,000 people. Approximately 1,000 seats among them,
