How to go about affordable health care?

We all need medical help at some time in our lives and we also want the security of knowing that our children will be cared for, should they fall ill or suffer an accident. In developing countries, a lot of people struggle to buy the drugs and medicines they need and have to rely on charity. There is a campaign in the West to persuade pharmaceutical companies to make their products available at prices people can pay in poverty stricken communities. Sometimes, these companies will only put the high cost branded drugs on the market. They have also been known to flood the market with past their sell date products. Affordable health care is out of reach for a lot of people.

It can also be difficult for developed countries, especially when someone has a long-term illness. Most people need to have some sort of private health insurance to meet their needs. The problem is that a lot of families prioritize their money to be spent on rent and food, leaving little left for anything else. Affordable health care often comes at the expense of something else.

In general, the population is living longer. This is putting enormous strain on every country's health system. There are more people living into their eighties and nineties and they have several medical problems. At the same time, middle-aged people are falling victim to heart disease and strokes. The debate rages as to whether the state should provide health care or if it should be left to the responsibility of the individual. It might work better as a blending of the two.

The UK is lucky in having a welfare state. Medical care is free at source. There are exceptions to this, involving dental and ophthalmic charges. There is also a standard charge for prescriptions. This welfare system has to be paid for through direct and indirect tax. Americans don't enjoy a welfare state but they pay less tax on gasoline etc. Affordable health care is swings and roundabouts.

Private health care is available in the UK as well, for those who wish to pay for it. This means you get treatment a lot quicker and can be admitted to a private hospital on a chosen date for operations. The divide between private and state provision causes a lot of argument, with some people believing that no one should be able to jump the queue because they can pay to do so. Private patients also take doctors away from National Health Service patients. Everyone is agreed that affordable health care for all is a desirable goal but no one seems sure on how to go about it.

I can't state enough the difference that exercise can make to your life - have a read of the following statement:

Regular exercise has been shown to bring down blood pressure (anywhere from 4 to 9 points, the equal of some hypertensive meds, without the side effects) and help with weight loss as well.

Moderate activity is very effective for keeping blood pressure under control, maybe even better than more strenuous workouts.

The key is to start slowly and build up to between 30-60 minutes most days. A great way to start incorporating exercise into your life is walking. It's free, requires no equipment other than some good footwear and if you rope in a walking partner it can be a great way to socialize. (I told you it can be fun!).

However, please note before you start exercising, see your doctor if:

- You're over 50 years old and never exercised
- You smoke
- You're overweight
- You're diabetic or have any heart conditions
- Your blood pressure is severe and not well controlled
- You regularly take medications for diabetes, cardiovascular disease or high blood pressure.

As you can see, there is a lot of information to cover when discussing high blood pressure and the various treatment and management options.

If you want to get a fast track to this information then you can find out more HERE.

The Impact of Stress on Hypertension

http://rudulah.bl00d.hop.clickbank.net
As you've probably realized I like to keep abreast of all things relating to hypertension. It's a subject rather close to my heart.

This article covers one area of blood pressure reduction that you alone can affect.

Anybody can be effected by stress, no matter what age or what job you do. It has been suggested that you have twice the risk for high blood pressure if you are anxious or don't cope well with stressful situations. It is interesting to note that stress seems to impact blood pressure more in men than women do, so guys you need to listen up.

There is good and bad stress. Stress can be exciting and exhilarating like when you're on taking part in a fast paced competitive sport. Your 'happy chemicals' increase and causing what's known as good stress. Bad stress, the stress we place on ourselves through worrying over work or relationships have negative impacts on our bodies.

We all have a natural fight or flight instinct - useful when we were hunting large animals for food and it was kill or get eaten. We still retain these instincts but they're transposed to non-life threatening events like confrontations at work, where we are unable to do anything about the physical effects of stress. Running away or harming your work colleagues is not an option, so the pressure builds, quite literally.

Implementing relaxation techniques can help reduce the effect stress has on your cardiovascular system. Research has found that breathing exercise and meditation help to control high blood pressure, and might even prevent it in the first place.

Next time we'll look at the how exercise can help lower high blood pressure.

Diet and Hypertension - Why diet plays a vital role?

http://rudulah.bl00d.hop.clickbank.net
A healthy diet should be your first line of defense when combating high blood pressure. We are definitely the result of what we eat, no doubt about it.

If you've recently been diagnosed with hypertension then now is the time to have a good look at your daily intake. You'll want to reduce saturated fats and increase complex carbohydrates. Many studies have proven that losing weight can reduce the need for medication.

The DASH Diet is a well-documented and proven plan that you can follow to control hypertension. The great news is that you can see improvements in as little as two weeks.

You can find heart friendly eating plans and some DASH diet recipes to get you started in the ebook "Blood Pressure Reduction Guide" at HERE.

In my next article we will be covering how reducing stress has a positive impact on hypertension.

Hypertension and Supplements Reviewed

http://rudulah.bl00d.hop.clickbank.net
Today's article is all about how to lower high blood pressure through adding supplements to your diet.

Supplementing with potassium, magnesium and calcium can help lower high blood pressure. It is thought that low levels of potassium can contribute to hypertension and magnesium, when taken with calcium is helpful in lowering high blood pressure by allowing the blood to flow more freely around the body.

B Vitamins, Essential Fatty Acids, Co Enzyme Q10 and Herbs are also usual supplements in the fight against high blood pressure.

However, please remember to consult a health professional before adding supplements to your diet.

If you're interested in gaining more information on how these natural products can positively impact on reducing hypertension, why not look over the ebook I recommend, the "Blood Pressure Reduction Guide",
where there's a whole chapter dedicated to these natural options

You can find out more about this by going to HERE!

Thanks for reading, and I will be back with another installment soon.

How to Low Blood Pressure Through Natural Means?

http://rudulah.bl00d.hop.clickbank.net
Today's article covers how you can lower blood pressure using natural approaches. We'll look at two options here.

First up acupuncture, both the National Institute of Health and the World Health Organization have named acupuncture as an effective treatment. Recent research has shown that blood pressure can be lowered by as much as 50% with a 30-minute treatment. The effects last up to two hours after the session ends. It is thought to work by triggering the release of chemicals in the brain that decrease the heart's action and need for oxygen, which in turn is thought to reduce hypertension.

Biofeedback is another alternative to medication that has proven successful in lowering blood pressure. Its a non-invasive process that helps you learn how to manage (and change) any troubling physical symptoms. There is an element of training involved but many people end up coming off medication once they've got to grips with the biofeedback techniques.

Hopefully from this information you can see that there are viable alternatives to medication that can successfully reduce hypertension.

Next time I'll be having a look at supplements and what they can do for the high blood pressure sufferer.

Until next time.

Prescription Drugs for Hypertension?

http://rudulah.bl00d.hop.clickbank.net
In this article I am going to cover prescription drugs for high blood pressure and also look at the side effects.

Prescription drugs are usually only prescribed after you've tried to implement some lifestyle changes. If you've had a heart attack, suffer with diabetes or have dangerously high cholesterol, your doctor more than likely going to be keen to recommend one of the many drug treatments available, such as Beta Blockers, ACE Inhibitors, Diuretics and Vasodilators to name a few.

The goal behind any hypertension treatment is to lower your blood pressure, reduce your risk of heart attack, stroke or other problems and help you live longer and to be healthier.

There are a number a common side effects from taking hypertension medication:

-Weakness / tiredness
-Impotence
-Cold hands and feet
-Depression
-Disturbed sleep
-Slow or fast heartbeat
-Dry, constant cough
-Ankle swelling, leg cramps or aches in the joints
-Headaches
-Digestive complications

You should speak to your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms while taking medication.

It will probably be trial and error, taking a number of different drugs until you find that works for you. So be prepared to put in some time and effort before seeing results.

If prescription medication is not something you wish to consider, don't worry, next week I'm going to cover natural approaches to lowering blood pressure.

However, if you wish to know more about the specifics of hypertension medication and what beneficial effect each one has, along with their side effects, you can find out more in the ebook, I recommend the "Blood Pressure Reduction Guide" - And you can  find more information by going to this website: Click Here

The Causes Behind High Blood Pressure Explained

http://rudulah.bl00d.hop.clickbank.net
I hope this article finds you and your loved ones well.

Today I want to go over what causes high blood pressure and give an overview of the different types of high blood pressure.

There is primary and secondary high blood pressure and your type will depend on whether the exact cause of your hypertension can be identified. This can be notoriously difficult to determine unless you have say a specific condition like diabetes for example, this is classed as secondary hypertension.

Primary hypertension is the more common form and the exact cause remains unclear.

However, listed below are a number of factors that come into play with primary hypertension:

- Genetics
- Diet
- Weight
- Insulin resistance
- Excessive alcohol intake
- Hormone imbalances

My next article will cover the pros and cons of using prescription drugs to reduce your high blood pressure.

If you want to get more in-depth information about the causes of hypertension and how you can effectively manage your high blood pressure, you can download the book I recommend here.

Until Next time.

What Does Having High Blood Pressure Mean?

http://rudulah.bl00d.hop.clickbank.net
In this article I am going to give a simple explanation of what it means to have high blood pressure, or hypertension as its also known.

- If have been diagnosed with high blood pressure you should be count yourself lucky. The reason I say that is because between 30 - 50% of people with high blood pressure aren't aware of it. Which is why it's so dangerous.

- Blood pressure is measured using systolic & diastolic pressure. It is represented by two numbers shown one on top of the other i.e. 110/70. Systolic pressure(top number) is the pressure of blood in the vessels when the heart is beating and diastolic pressure (bottom number) is the pressure between heartbeats.

- Hypertension can cause damage to artery wall linings, causing them to thicken and become stiff. This makes it easier for cholesterol to attach to the walls, which narrow, and more pressure is required to pump blood through.

- Hypertension can increase the risk of a heart attack by up to five times.

- Your risk of stroke increases up to 10 times.

- Congestive heart failure is also a serious risk.

- High blood pressure also causes damage to most major organs and can have an impact on your mental abilities over time.

As you can see high blood pressure can be extremely damaging and can most definitely shorten your lifespan.

However, I think its worth pointing out that blood pressure in itself isn't a bad thing, its a necessary function of the body.

Without pressure your blood wouldn't be able to pump round oxygen and nutrients to the cells; carry hormones or antibodies to where they are needed; or remove waste and toxins. It is just a case of managing your blood pressure to effectively reduce the risks to your health.

In my next newsletter I'll cover what causes high blood pressure - I hope you'll join me.

Until next time.

Dietary changes and Acid Reflux

http://rudulah.stopac1d.hop.clickbank.net
As you've probably realized by now, I like keep up to date with the latest Acid Reflux information and resources available. Today's article covers dietary changes recommended for helping stop Acid Reflux.

There are some foods that are better than others for people suffering with Acid Reflux to eat. Altering your eating habits, along with lifestyle changes as mentioned in my last newsletter can drastically reduce the need for medications and, down the line, invasive surgeries.

You should aim to avoid:

- alcohol and caffeine

- chocolate

- foods high in fat such as French fries

- spicy foods like buffalo wings

- acidic foods and juices

- garlic

- onions, broccoli, cabbage, and several other vegetables

If you can't avoid these foods and beverages, you should at least consider strictly limiting their consumption.

Diet Tips:

- Force yourself to eat small meals no matter how hungry you are. Remember eating large meals puts pressure on the stomach and encourages Acid Reflux to occur.

- Stay away from carbonated drinks like soda

- Don't eat right before going to bed since Acid Reflux happens more when you're lying down.

Lifestyle Changes for Acid Reflux Sufferers

http://rudulah.stopac1d.hop.clickbank.net
In my last article we covered some of the surgical procedures involved in treating Acid Reflux, or GERD and I promised you some information on lifestyle changes that you can make to deal with Acid Reflux, so here goes...

Did you know that:

Eating habits play an important role in managing Acid Reflux. To limit symptoms and the progression of GERD, you should try to eat smaller meals spread throughout the day. Large meals put more pressure on your stomach and can lead to bouts of Acid Reflux. After you eat, it is recommended to remain upright for at least two hours to keep potentially dangerous fluids in your stomach down.

People who smoke are more likely to suffer from Acid Reflux. If you're a smoker and suffer with Acid Reflux you should consider quitting immediately to help reduce the production of stomach acid. There are many great stop smoking programs around and you'll need to evaluate which one will work best for you. A place to start could be here: http://www.stop-smoking-for-life.com/  Copy and paste the url into your browser to have a read.

Obesity is one of the leading factors in developing Acid Reflux. Losing excess weight is healthy and will help your body work the way it was built to. Even a small reduction in weight can be a blessing when battling with Acid Reflux. If your weight falls into the obese category on medical charts now is the time to try and tackle it.

Alcohol consumption has been shown to increase the production of stomach acid and wear away the protective coating that shields the esophagus. Consider limiting your intake of alcoholic beverages.

Relaxation and the reduction of stress are important when managing Acid Reflux. Learn how to keep yourself from stressing out and help limit symptoms.

Exercise is universally hailed as key to good health. However, some people with Acid Reflux can be adversely affected by strenuous exercise. Consult with your doctor about an exercise regime that will be beneficial to your body and fit in with your bouts of GERD.

Sleep is important for the body to replenish itself and run smoothly. If you have Acid Reflux, consider elevating your upper body at night to reduce the chance of stomach acid entering the esophagus so you can benefit from a good nights healing sleep.

In "Stop Acid Reflux Now!" You can find loads more in-depth information covering all of the above lifestyle changes to help you reduce and even eliminate Acid Reflux.  If you are interested in  finding out more copy and paste the following link into your  browser.

Acid Reflux Surgery

 http://rudulah.stopac1d.hop.clickbank.net
In today's article we are going to cover the surgical options available for treating Acid Reflux.

When a doctor recommends surgery, it is often a frightening experience. While having surgery is always a gamble, there are times when it becomes necessary. Acid Reflux, or GERD, when not properly treated early can lead to the necessity of having surgery.

When should surgery be considered?

Your doctor can tell you this. When many of the symptoms of GERD become common, and drugs no longer work, surgery can be an option. When the complications become life-threatening, doctors will often suggest surgery as a last resort.

Fundoplication

This is the usual surgical procedure for Acid Reflux. Just like most surgeries, it is performed when nothing else has worked. It is often invasive surgery and involves wrapping the top part of the stomach around the LES in order to strengthen the LES so that reflux cannot occur. Fortunately, this kind of surgery is highly effective at treating Acid Reflux.

Endoscopy

In order to treat GERD, surgeons have been coming up with all sorts of new treatments. While the long-term effectiveness of endoscopic procedures are not known, these procedures have proven to be reliable in the short-term. Endoscopy can be used to tighten the LES, making it stronger; introduce radiowaves to actually damage the sphincter and cause scar tissue to form and subsequently strengthening the LES; through injection of foreign material that will reinforce the LES.

Implants

A new form of treatment recently approved by the FDA involves a spongy implant that reinforces the LES. Since the treatment is new, there is no data on the long term effects of this procedure.

If the thought if surgery fills you with dread then it's time to get proactive and make some lifestyle changes to help treat your Acid Reflux and keep you out of the operating theater. Luckily, I'll be covering information on lifestyle changes needed to stop Acid Reflux in my next newsletter!

Thanks for reading, and I will be back with the lifestyle information soon.

Medications for sufferers of Acid Reflux

 http://rudulah.stopac1d.hop.clickbank.net
I hope you are well and ready for my next Acid Reflux article. Today's I'm going to cover the medications used to fight Acid Reflux.

Depending on the severity of your case of Acid Reflux, you may want to try either over-the-counter or prescription drugs.

Antacids

The first class of medicines most commonly used in the fight against Acid Reflux is antacids. You've seen the commercials on television for all kinds of fizzy tablets. These tablets are usually dissolved in glass of water and work best when taken about an hour after meals. There are many different brands that you can purchase that will help fight the acid production in your stomach.

Foaming Agents

This medication works by providing a protective coating in your stomach to prevent Acid Reflux. Foaming agents usually work best when combined with other forms of treatment.

Histamine Antagonists

In order to halt Acid Reflux, the production of stomach acid has to be decreased. Histamine antagonists do just that. These are found over-the-counter and can usually help treat only the symptoms of Acid Reflux. Long-term use is not recommended as the root of the problem won't be addressed.

Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPI)

This prescription medication is highly effective at limiting the symptoms of Acid Reflux. PPIs work in a similar but more effective way than histamine antagonists. There are many television commercials that feature information on PPIs. You've probably seen them.

Prokinetics

The least used treatment for Acid Reflux, prokinetics are known to have unpleasant side-effects that limit their usefulness. However, for some people, this form of treatment seems to work. Prokinetics work by boosting the strength of your LES and supercharge your stomach's ability to empty.

In the next article I will be talking about some of the surgical procedures that may be required to treat Acid Reflux.

 http://rudulah.stopac1d.hop.clickbank.net

The complications associated with Acid Reflux

http://rudulah.stopac1d.hop.clickbank.net
I hope you are finding the content of my regular newsletters interesting and useful.

Today I thought it would be useful to cover many of the complications associated with Acid Reflux.

On the surface, Acid Reflux does not appear as a serious condition, but it can be. Some of the complications are mild, but many of them can lead to serious medical conditions. So if you're experiencing heartburn on regular occasions, keep these complications in mind.

Anemia - blood loss due to damage to the esophagus can lead to this condition. Anemia is a drop in the body's amount of red blood cells.

Asthma - the majority of people suffering from Acid Reflux also have asthma. GERD can make the symptoms of asthma worse by causing the breathing passageways to contract.

Barrett's Esophagus - over time, the damage to your esophagus from Acid Reflux can actually alter the cells in the esophagus. This can lead to cancer of the esophagus. Barret's Esophagus is the stage before the cells become cancerous. It is possible to receive treatment to prevent the formation of cancerous cells.

Bleeding and Ulcers - when the lining of the esophagus is damaged bleeding can occur and painful ulcers can form.

Esophageal Cancer - this form of cancer occurs when Barrett's isn't treated. This one of the top ten forms of cancer in the United States.

Respiratory infections - sometimes, refluxed fluids can get inside the lungs and cause all sorts of problems. This is called aspiration and it can cause many types of infections, including pneumonia and bronchitis.

In a downloadable ebook I reviewed recently, "Stop Acid Reflux Now!", there is specific information that sheds light on more of the complications of Acid Reflux and how to go about treating them. "Stop Acid Reflux Now!" will show you how to take control of Acid  Reflux fast.

I hope this information has been useful to you...and I will be in touch soon with the next installment, which covers...

Medications for sufferers of Acid Reflux.

Some symptoms associated with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)

http://rudulah.stopac1d.hop.clickbank.net
There are several symptoms associated with GERD. It is a disease that can affect anyone. Some of the symptoms are inconvenient while others can be frightening. There are many symptoms involved with Acid Reflux and they can range from mild to severe.

Symptoms of GERD include don't just affect the digestive system. Anemia, sinus infections, apnea, dental problems, chronic sore throat, and ear infections are common symptoms. In addition, difficulty swallowing, a need to keep clearing the throat, and burning sensation in the mouth, and chest pains are symptoms directly linked to reflux of acid. GERD may also bring about respiratory problems and coughing.

Some other symptoms include:

- Halitosis (bad breath)
- Weight loss due to development of an aversion to food

What Acid Reflux actually is?

Today I am going to give a simple explanation of what Acid Reflux actually is:

- Acid Reflux is actually called GERD, or gastro-esophageal reflux disease.

- Symptoms result from the reflux of stomach acid back up into the esophagus.

- Heartburn is usually the step before Acid Reflux.

- Acid Reflux is a condition that affects the esophagus.

Acid Reflux happens when your lower esophageal sphincter (LES) does not close the way it is supposed to. This ring-shaped muscle controls what goes in and comes out of your stomach.

This condition is known as heartburn and doesn't turn into Acid Reflux until it becomes chronic. Nearly twenty-five million adults experience heartburn on a daily basis. This results when fluid from the stomach is refluxed through the LES. This liquid contains acid and a protein-digesting enzyme. The acid burns the esophagus and can be very painful.

GERD or Acid Reflux is not developed until the condition becomes chronic. There are many products advertised on television and in magazines designed to limit heartburn. Once GERD develops it is a lifelong condition that requires ongoing treatment.

In my next article I will cover the symptoms of Acid Reflux.
