Indonesia's investment in the first half 2016 grow 14.8% to USD 22,7 billion

The realization of the investment coming into Indonesia for the period II quarter 2016 reached Rp 151.6 trillion (USD 11.57 billion). This investment figure recorded rising 12.3% compared to the same period the previous year.

"The figure broke the record high of realization of the investment in Indonesia," said the head of the Capital Investment Coordination Agency (BKPM), Thomas Lembong, in a news conference at the offices of the BKPM, Jakarta, Thursday (29/7/2016).

Of the total investment in the quarter II-2016, the number of Domestic Investment (PMDN) reached Rp 52.2 trillion, or rose 21.7% compared to the same period the previous year.

As for Foreign Investment (PMA) totaling Rp 99.4 trillion, or 7.9% versus the same period a year earlier.

Incoming investment from the PMDN is as follows:
  • Transportation and warehouse Rp 8.33 trillion with 91 projects
  • Non metallic mineral industry Rp 8.13 trillion with 70 projects
  • The food industry Rp 7.73 trillion in 39 projects
  • Construction of the Rp 6.32 trillion in 134 projects
  • Food crops and plantations for Rp 3.47 trillion with 161 projects.
While all semester I-2016, the value of investment coming into the country are Rp 298.1 trillion, or rose 14.8% versus the same period a year earlier.
 
Of these, the PMDN realization reached Rp 102.6 trillion or a rise of 20% from the same period a year earlier. Then for PMA recorded Rp 195.5 trillion, or rose 12.3% compared to the same period the previous year.

Lembong sure, target investment this year that reached Rp 594.8 trillion (USD 45.3 billion) will be reached.
